About me
My first interest in the moving image was when I was around 5 years old and my mom handed me our family’s VHS home camera. My brother and I would make videos of us skateboarding, pretending to be in the heat of battle, and just being a couple of rambunctious kids. Little did my mom know that handing me this camera would spark a lifelong urge to learn about filmmaking.
Cinematography and lighting didn’t occur to me as a career until I was 21 years old. Up until that point I still did photography as a hobby, but year after year I became more obsessive with framing, lensing, mood, and most of all, Lighting. I was working a remote desk job living in Colorado when the epiphany hit me to chase my passion for visual storytelling as a career.
The first step in my journey into becoming a filmmaker was film school. I attended Portland State University in their production program and graduated with honors in spring of 2025. My time at PSU helped me hone my style of lighting, the operations of a film set, and most importantly introduced me to like minded young filmmakers in the program. These friends I made in film school I work with regularly on commercials, narrative short films, music videos, and documentaries. And I plan on working with these friends for the rest of my career.
There’s a lot more to my story of how I got to where I am now. Let’s get coffee and chat about the rest of it, and so I can hear your journey into the film industry as well!
